TEACHERS' DAY 1999
Teachers' Day 1999 was indeed a day to be remembered. Us prefects, worked together to make this day a successful and joyous one for the teachers as well as the students. An organizing committee was formed 3 weeks before D-Day itself. Under the leadership of Lim Shu Chiah, fellow committee members, Khor Chee Seong, Gooi Zhen and Leow Wey Seng put together a great shower of effort in order for things to run smoothly on the day.

At 7 a.m. in the morning, the prefects were more than ready to get the ball rolling. Chairs were arranged and last minute arrangements were sorted out. By 7.30 we were ready to begin. We waited for the honourable guest, Dato' Fauzi our PTA chairman who also holds the role of a Deputy Minister in the Parliament of Ministers.

The day started of with the handing out of prizes for the Sports Day which was held the Sunday before. This took rather long but the students gave a lot of enthusiasm. The outcome was : Champion : Red House.. followed by Yellow, Blue, Green and finally Purple. As for the March-past for the uniformed units category, the Cadets stand victoriously. The Rangers lost by an inch to them while the scouts followed closely behind. Then came the Red Cresent members and finally us, fellow prefects.

Then we handed out the gifts to the teachers. Pn. Salmah, Mr. Gurmit, Pn. Azizah and Datin Zeleha (our Prefects Advisory Teacher) received a Parker pen each from the prefects. While the rest of the teachers received a brightly colored mug each, which were bought with the money contributed by the students from each and every class.

After that, we took a short break because the teachers had to go for their photo session. After that , all the students and teachers regathered at the assembly ground and we continued on with the agenda. Next were the performances which were started of with the Chinese Dance Society performing a very fascinating dance. Next came the interactors with their choir performance. After a few more performances, it was time for the class parties organized by the monitors and classmates to celebrate together with their class teacher.

Soon it was time to go home and we called it a day. I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves on that day. It was indeed a success and we hope that it'll turn out to be better in the following years. Check out the photos in the Photo Gallery!
